He was born on a Fall Day October 26th 1949... In La Puente then, now it is 
called City of Industry. 
In a Boxcar... like the one shown below... the middle one of three, positioned
in a "U" shape.

Our parents referred to this shelter as the "vagones" Ironically, today, the location
is now in the middle of a railroad yard. If you want to know the exact location go
the intersection of "Old Valley" and "Valley" Boulevards. Look south to where the
San Jose Wash is.... now turn east about a half mile following the wash and there
you are. The wash used to be called "San Jose Creek" and the boxcars were located
several hundred feet from the banks.
Because of where he was born he was affectionally called "Boxcar Ben". Whenever 
he was feeling down it was said he was suffering from the "Boxcar Blues". In later 
years, whenever he played "craps" he could not keep from betting on the "double 
sixes" sometimes called "boxcars" even though he knew it was a sucker bet 
(at least to some people).
