The old man, Juan was laying on his death bed. He had only hours to live when he suddenly smelled tamales, aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!! He loved tamales more than anything else in the world. Especially Maria's tamales. They were known throughout the barrio as "lo mejor de lo mejor" (the best of the best). With his last bit of energy, he pulled himself out of bed, across the floor, and to the stairs, then down the stairs and into the kitchen. There his wife, Maria was spreading the masa for a new batch of tamales.
